That day, we (Jib and I) prepared numerous love songs; songs that are mellow in style, songs that are soothing to the ear, and songs that can make your heart melt. Everything should've went as planned; but man, that loud but jam-packed karaoke machine really drained the energy out of us, and we were too worn out to sing out even just one note. That was really catastrophic, to say the least; I didn't have a clue on how I would bounce back and make my girlfriend's birthday worthwhile; that she would treasure that moment for the rest of her life. Suddenly, one idea popped up in mind - candlelight dinner. It's quite a romantic setting; and I knew she was gonna love it!
So I asked my mom to help me out; and on October 25, while we (my girlfriends and I) were attending the holy Eucharist, my family and helpers were busy cleaning our backyard, and preparing for what would be an enchanted evening. After cleansing our souls, my girlfriend and I walked our way home, along the calm and peaceful streets of our neighborhood. She didn't have a clue on what was I planning; she didn't even know what we're gonna do at home. When we arrived, the place was just about ready; and I told her that she should come with me. . . blindfolded. I was in awe when I saw the place, on how it turned out. I never imagined how alluring our backyard would look like. It was brilliant; table for two, the place was peaceful, numerous dishes were prepared and the majestic stars were shining down upon us. And a candlelight dinner wouldn't be complete without enticing candles in the placed in the middle of the table; and all this made me even more excited to show this gift for her.
So, I asked her to sit down on one end of the table (still blindfolded) while I was getting the lovely bouquet of flowers that I ordered. I asked her to remove her blindfold while I was handing her the flowers; and when she was able to open her eyes, she was quite speechless. Although caught up in the moment without nothing to say, I could tell from the look on her face that she was happy; and a bit overwhelmed about the whole thing. Then she thanked me, for making this day so perfect for her. She told me she never experienced candlelight dinner before (neither have I) and that she was thrilled to have experienced it for the first time with me. I was happy myself, that everything went as planned; and that if it wasn't for the people here at home, this day should've been just an ordinary one.
After dinner she grabbed a hold of me hugged me oh so tight! Then she softly whispered the words "I love you" to my ear; ah that warm and fuzzy feeling :) we didn't want to let go, but about half an hour later, it was time for her to say goodbye. I guess her mom was a bit worried on her whereabouts, so it was okay with me. I escorted her to her car to make sure she's safe; and again she thanked me for the night. Then she went home along with her bodyguards :p
I thought that day was very memorable that I had to share it with you guys on this blog task. I hope you enjoyed reading. Until my next blog y'all! :)
