In the previous year (2009 - I wrote this Jan 03, 2010) Christmas is something new for me. The experience of having to wake up at three in the morning was very fulfilling, although I didn't complete all nine Simbang Gabi's. It was different, for I haven't done it before in my entire life (sorry Bro); but it felt great, being one with God in the break of dawn.
I also had to find time to practice for our performance in the IDS Alumni Homecoming, which was on December 28. It was very tiring because we had to practice every day before 28 struck (except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day itself), that's why I wasn't able to complete all nine Simbang Gabi's; but I had a wonderful time practicing with my friends, and I guess they were a big part of my Christmas vacation.
Another new experience for me last Christmas was that I spent it in my girlfriend's house (I wanted to, and her parents consider me family now :D). During Noche Buena, I only ate ham (I was really full at that time). When 12 mn struck, we greeted each other a very Merry Christmas, and no sleepover would be complete without a movie marathon :D my girlfriend and I watched Up and The Grinch until we eventually fell asleep at around two or three in the morning. We woke up at around five (my head hurt a lot). I was invited for lunch with their relatives. Although a bit shy, I couldn't reject that offer, so I ate lunch with them.
A lot of new stuff happened in Christmas of 2009, but still it was that same feeling of satisfaction and happiness that I get every year in spending the Yuletide Season.
