Learning Blog

The new year starts and all I'm thinking about are exams; assignments, and reports that we should've done over the break. I can't believe that I'm doing this cramming thing again; and to think that I promised myself not to resort into this type of "habit" anymore. Seriously, I really need to get my mind set into focusing in school even more; I can't just be like a happy-go-lucky guy for the rest of my life. Well, so much for that.
Although a lot of things were on my mind as I entered Room 118 last week (like a probable prelim exam), I just decided to stay calm and try to own the situation; but as Ma'am Lynnie entered the room, man was my heart thumping (you couldn't blame me; I wasn't able to study a single word of the coverage she gave us before the break). Good thing she postponed the exam because she added new topics for the coverage (yey! :D).
So, she wanted us to learn descriptive writing; and correcting run-on sentences. Descriptive writing isn't that hard to understand; only that for it to appealing to the readers, you have to use vivid words (which was a bit difficult for me; compared to my girlfriend, I'm still an amateur in this writing thing). But I guess I can do it :)
In fixing run-on sentences, Ma'am gave us an activity that we should to with a partner (new partner, that is; because Jib and I were always partners during activities). I guess the activity was a piece of cake; but I doubt that we aced that one (I not sure, but I can feel it). I'm not really that confident with myself.
I learned a lot last week; and I expect to learn more in the coming weeks. Ma'am Lynnie has been great; and it's no surprise. Seems to me she's an MVP in the English subject :)
